Hmmm… I pity anyone who asks “Batman who?”
Okay, folks, I still hate the new DC Comics Logo but, to open
the new Direct-To-DVD Batman adventure “Son of Batman”, the story of Damien
Wayne, the logo DID provide me with a laugh.
We open on the DC Logo…
Batman peeks out from behind the flopping “D” of the “DC”
logo, presumably to see if you’re behaving… or paying strict attention to his
movie!

The logo resumes (alas).
This is the first time this abomination of a logo has ever
provided me with some enjoyment! Kudos
to whoever came up with such a wonderfully unexpected bit!

Do DVDs still DO Easter Eggs? These days, even “Special Features” that ARE noted on the DVD’s packaging are more and more rare, alas.
Or, maybe, instead of “Easter”, it could be “Bat-Groundhog Day”, where Batman peeks-out of the logo to see his SHADOW! …Get it? …SHADOW OF THE BAT?
…Yeah, I know, lame joke! Sorry!
Easter eggs still appear on DVDs for the original Doctor Who series, but otherwise it's become the norm to promote extras in the hopes of boosting sales rather than hide them.
Remember when the DVD AND Blu-Ray editions of movies from Disney and Warner Home Video came with the same extras? Now you must buy the blu ray copy to have them, and the other studios have followed suit. :(

So true, ‘Rehab. As with “Son of Batman”, the extras are on the Blu-ray version. For those DCU Direct-to-Video productions, I get the DVD / Blu-ray combo pack, and generally watch the Blu-ray, but use the standard DVD to make the screen captures on my computer, such as you see in this very post.
I’m quite certain that THE SIMPSONS sets still hide Easter Eggs within – but yeah, I’d rather promote ‘em. Especially as they are becoming rarer than they ought to be.
